Video Games Today

Video games are taking over the world. All kids want to do in this new generation is to sit inside all day and play video games. What happened to begging your parents to stay out late to go play at the park? As the video game systems evolve, the more addicting they are becoming. I feel that it is a huge issue, especially in the United States of America. Video games are creating obesity among young children and causing serious health issues. They may even be causing violence in teenagers today. Half of the video games that are being made today involve extreme measures of violence. In most of them you are shooting, stabbing and even running over people. There are even some games where the objective is to kill cops and take over cities. Parents are buying their children these games and allowing them to play them without any supervision. If I were a parent there is no way I would ever let my children play these games. I would also make them go play outside every day and would limit their playing time. Video games are also causing social problems amongst children. Kids are happy with sitting in their room all day alone and do not even care about making friends to go hang out with. Not only are video games addicting to young children; they are even becoming very popular with adults. They have come out with several addicting games on cellphones now. Games such as Words With Friends, Hanging With Friends, Family Feud and Draw Something are becoming daily rituals for adults.  My parents and my other friends’ parents will be playing these games with us all day; even when they are at their jobs. The scariest part is that technology continues to evolve and games are going to become more popular
