Superbowl Winner?

Who do I think is going to win the Super Bowl this year? The New York Giants are the hottest team in the National Football League (NFL) right now. They went through the first two games of the playoffs as if they were playing college teams. The Atlanta Falcons were the best team in the National Football Conference (NFC) last year and are a team with high respect in the NFL. The reason I mention this is because the New York Giants embarrassed the Atlanta Falcons by holding them to only two points through the entire first game of the playoffs this year. The Green Bay Packers who were the Super Bowl champions last year and only lost one game all season long this year; became the next challenge for the Giants. The Giants blew past them by scoring a total of thirty-seven points. They also held the most feared offense in the NFL to only twenty points throughout the whole game. In the NFC Championship Game versus the San Francisco 49ers; they struggled a little bit but still managed to pull out the victory in overtime. It was one of the most epic games I have seen in my lifetime and I feel like it gives them huge momentum going into the Super Bowl. The Giants are led by Eli Manning who is the hottest quarterback in the postseason. Eli has three of the most impactful wide receivers in football today as targets to hit. Not only do they have the hottest offense, they have the best defensive line that is run by Justin Tuck and Jason Pierre-Paul. They put constant pressure on the opposing quarterback and do not give them any time to make a plan. Personally, I do not believe the New England Patriots have any kind of chance to beat the Giants.

BCS VS PLAYOFFS

What does the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) do for college football? The BCS is a
computer system that ranks teams based on statistics. The problem with this is the
National Championship is based on statistics and not on actual head to head competition
between the teams. Whether people like to admit it, the BCS produces a controversial
champion every year. A team could have one bad game in the season and be taken out of
contention to play for the title. This system makes every game feel like a playoff game.

Do you think the BCS system should still be used in college football today? I feel that
after every season in college football there is always the same argument: BCS or playoff
system. After the end of the 2011- 2012 season I feel that it is obvious that the BCS
system should be banished from the sport today. LSU lost to Alabama in the National
Championship after they had already beaten them in the regular season. I strongly
believe that Alabama should not have had the chance to be able to play for the title.
Oklahoma State had the same record as Alabama and would have had just as great of a
chance at winning the National Championship. They were not given the opportunity because
a computer system thought they were the third best team in the country. If you had a
playoff system, then the top ten teams could battle through the playoffs to see who the
real top two teams would be. I don’t think that computer systems should be able to judge
who the best two teams are without giving them a chance to play each other. Not one
other sports in the entire country has a BCS system, they all use a playoff format. It
would make the season more entertaining and I believe it would highly increase the fan
base. I really hope after this season they take the BCS system into strong consideration
and allow a vote to see who would rather have the BCS or playoff system. I am interested
in hearing both sides of this topic, please comment and share your opinions
